The image of Our Mother of the Angels is made in terracotta and polychrome wood by the young Sevillian artist Esteban Sanchez Rosado. It is inspired by the works of Montes de Oca, and as such presents a great anatomical realism, careful treatment of facial features, solemn and static attitude, and careful polychromy. It stands out for its sharp gesture of pain, a sharp oval on its lower end, sunken cheekbones, eyes reddened by crying, swollen eyelids, stylized neck with marked contraction of muscles, lips parted in a sign to emit a moan of pain, great tension in the hands, prominent chin, and pearly flesh.
